Toledo Mud Hens News Release
TOLEDO, OH - Fleetwood's Tap Room will debut Jamie's Wit at the first ever Fleetfest, celebrating the Tap Room's more than 100 local, regional and national craft beers and the 50 plus domestic spirits.
Named after Toledo's favorite son, Jamie Farr, Jamie's Wit is a traditional Belgian Wit brewed with white wheat and pilsner malt, topped off with a special Belgium wheat, orange rind, and coriander to create a refreshing, very sessionable beer perfect for the summertime.
"We're excited to partner with Maumee Bay Brewing Company in developing Fleetwood's first craft beer and to introduce it during Fleetfest," says General Manager Brian Plummer, Fleetwood's Tap Room. "The name of the beer had to be special, and who is more special to Toledo than Jamie Farr."
"M*A*S*H" the TV series finale is still the highest-rated show in the history of television," said Farr. "I have a park named after me in Toledo and a star on the Hollywood Walk Fame, and now a beer is named after me to celebrate and toast all of this. It doesn't get any better than this." A portion of every pint sold will go to a local charity of Jamie's choice.
In addition to the Tap Room, Fleetfest will showcase a local lineup of beers in Hensville Park provided by two downtown Toledo breweries, Maumee Bay Brewing Company and Black Cloister Brewing Company. The event will feature local and regional entertainment on two stage- the main stage at Hensville Park and Fleetwood's Tap Room, and at the after part on Fleetwood's Rooftop.
Fleetfest tickets are $10 each and include a featured tasting "Fleet" of two Black Cloister beers and two Maumee Bay beers available in Hensville Park only. For more information visit www.hensvilletoledo.com.
