Pigs Open Series at Norfolk

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will open a four-game set with the Norfolk Tides on Monday night at Harbor Park. First pitch of the series opener is slated for 7:05 p.m. The Pigs enter play at 39-31 and sit in third place in the North Division after splitting a four-game set with Buffalo over the weekend. Norfolk enters play at 26-44 on the year and has won three in a row after sweeping Durham.

LHP Anthony Vasquez (0-0, 8.31) will be on the bump for the Pigs in the series opener. The southpaw got a no-decision on Wednesday vs. Gwinnett when he gave up four runs on seven hits while walking four and fanning two in 4.1 IP. Vasquez was 7-3 with a 3.28 ERA in 12 starts with Double-A Reading this season.

LHP T.J. McFarland (1-1, 1.69) will be making his fourth start of the year for the Tides on Monday night. McFarland's last outing came in relief with the Orioles on Friday vs. Toronto when he gave up three hits while walking one over two scoreless innings. The southpaw tossed a pair of shutout frames against the Pigs back on May 30.

After notching a pair of hits on Sunday, Pigs 1B Brock Stassi has now hit safely in 15 of his last 19 games. In that time, Stassi is hitting .333-3-16 (23-69, 6 2B, 3B, 6 BB, 12 R).
