Today's Game

Tonight, the Bisons face the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders in the final game of a four-game series at PNC Field (7:05 p.m.). The teams split yesterday's day-night doubleheader, as the RailRiders took game one 4-0, while the Herd bounced back for a 6-4 win in game two. Following tonight's contest, Buffalo will head to Rochester to open up a three-game set against the Red Wings.

vs. the RailRiders

The Bisons are 4-4 against the RailRiders this season. The road team has won seven of the eight games in the season series thus far. These teams will meet again later this week as the RailRiders travel to Buffalo for a three-game set, July 10-12.

Matt Boyd

LHP MATT BOYD returns to the Bisons following a two-game stint in Toronto. In his last outing with the Blue Jays, the southpaw gave up seven runs without recording an out in a home loss to the Red Sox. His last start for the Herd came on June 19 when he allowed two runs in five innings in a victory over Syracuse. Boyd has not issued a walk in either of his first career Triple-A starts with the Bisons.

Chad Jenkins

With 2.0 strong innings out of the bullpen in the second game of yesterday's doubleheader, RHP CHAD JENKINS extended his scoreless streak to 20.0 IP in his last 14 relief efforts (since May 25). In that span, he has given up 18 hits and four walks, and has struck out 14 batters. Jenkins owns a 1.88 ERA in 17 total relief appearances.

Jonathan Diaz

INF JONATHAN DIAZ continues to deliver from the top spot in the Bisons order. He has now hit 7-20 (.350) with two RBI in five games since being moved to the top spot on July 1. On the season, Diaz has a .386 on-base pct. when leading off an inning.

MattVP

All-Star INF MATT HAGUE is closing in on another category to claim as the league's best. Hague drew three walks yesterday and is now just one free pass shy of Toledo's Daniel Fields' IL mark of 44. Hague, of course, still leads the league in average (.339) by 20 points and paces the circuit with 103 hits and a .426 on-base pct.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (43-41) beat the Tigers 10-5 in Detroit to snap a three-game skid. Former Bison Kevin Pillar went 2-5 with a run scored. Marco Estrada earned the win, giving up five hits and two runs while walking one and fanning three. Toronto now heads to Chicago to face the White Sox (8:10 p.m.).
