Today's Games
Tonight, the Herd take on the Indianapolis Indians in the second game of a three-game series from Victory Field (7:05 p.m.). Buffalo struck first in the series with last night's convincing 12-3 win over Indy. After tomorrow's series finale, the Bisons will travel to Louisville to take on the Bats on Thursday.
vs. the Indians
After being swept by Indy in three games last week at Coca-Cola Field, the Herd finally broke out against the Indians scoring 12 runs in the first game of this series. Each Bisons starter collected at least one hit. With the new unbalanced schedule, this will be the final regular season series against the Indians.
Andrew Albers
LHP ANDREW ALBERS will make his 10th start of the season tonight. The lefty last pitched one week ago against Indianapolis. Albers was charged with the loss, allowing a season-high eight runs (seven earned) while giving up nine hits, walking two and striking out four.
Triple Play
Last night the Bisons turned their first triple play since September 1, 2009. With runners on first and second base running on the pitch, Indians' Pedro Florimon lines out to LHP RANDY WOLF. The lefty turned and fired to 2B RAMON SANTIAGO, who relayed to 1B DARIC BARTON for the triple play. The play was ranked as the #9 play on Sportscenter's Top 10 list over night into today.
Matt Hague
INF MATT HAGUE has four consecutive multi-hit performances with a .643 (9-14) average and two RBI since Friday. The longtime Indianapolis Indian already has 20 multi-hit games this year. Hague leads all International League hitters with 67 hits, 17 doubles and 33 RBI. He also ranks 2nd in the IL in average (.353) and on-base pct(.425).
Bisons Bits
The Bisons continue to lead the International League with a 2.75 team ERA...RHP GREGORY INFANTE has thrown shutout baseball in nine consecutive appearances, a stretch that includes 14.0 innings of work...INF RAMON SANTIAGO collected two hits and two RBI in his Bisons' debut last night.
Blue Jays Update
The Blue Jays (23-29) were postponed due to inclement weather Monday night in Washington. The game we be made up as part of a doubleheader starting today at 1:05 p.m. R.A. Dickey will start Game 1 while Marco Estrada will start Game 2.
