Twins' Arcia Scheduled to Rehab
June 2, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
Twins OF Oswaldo Arcia - slowed since exiting a game on May 3 with a hip flexor strain -- is scheduled to continue a rehab assignment when the IronPigs host the Rochester Red Wings at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2 at Coca-Cola Park. Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network is the exclusive sponsor of all Major League rehabilitation appearances involving the IronPigs.
Arcia, 24, began his rehab stint with Rochester on May 26 and is hitless in 11 at-bats in his first four rehab games. He was hitting .276 with 2 homers and 8 RBIs prior to the injury.
In 2014, Arcia made the Twins Opening Day roster for the first time in his career and was among the team's most productive offensive weapons, hitting 20 home runs, which ranked 2nd on the team. His seven long balls in August ranked tied for the fourth most in the American League. Arcia made his Major League debut in 2013, hitting .251 with 14 homers and 43 RBI in 97 games after entering the campaign ranked as the 3rd-best prospect in the Twins organization by Baseball America.
A native of Venezuela, Arcia was signed as an International League Free Agent in 2007 and made his stateside debut in 2010.
