Bisons' Matt Hague, Gregory Infante Named to International League All-Star Team

The International League today announced that Buffalo Bisons INF MATT HAGUE and RHP GREGORY INFANTE have been named to the league's All-Star Team. Hague was elected as starter for the 2015 Triple-A All-Star Game in Omaha, NE on Wednesday, July 15 (8:00 p.m.) while Infante was selected to the team as a reserve.

The 2015 Triple-A All-Star Game will be televised live on the MLB Network and can be also be heard on the radio home of Bisons Baseball, ESPN 1520 AM.

HAGUE has been one of the league best hitters through the first half of the season, leading the International League with a .338 (97-287) batting average that is 18 points better than any other hitter. Hague also leads the IL with 97 hits and a .421 on-base pct. while ranking in the Top 5 in several other offensive categories: games (4th -77), RBI (T2nd -48), doubles (2nd -21), slugging pct. (3rd -.460), runs scored (T4th -41), total bases (4th -132) and walks (3rd -40).

Hague has started all but three of Buffalo's 79 games and has a team-best 28 multi-hit performances. He set a team record by reaching base in 10 consecutive plate appearances, 4/23-24 in Lehigh Valley (6 H, 4 BB), had a 14-game hit streak in early May and had a pair of three-double games just two days apart, May 21 and May 23 in Toledo.

This is Hague's third International League All-Star nod, having received the honor in 2011 and 2014 with Indianapolis.

INFANTE has made a team-high 30 appearances out of the bullpen and is 1-1 with a 2.36 ERA and three saves in 34.1 innings of work. The righty has held opponents to a .208 average against and just six extra-base hits in 125 at-bats. Infante made 11 consecutive scoreless appearances from May 8 to June 6, allowing just 11 hits and striking out 14 in the 17.0 inning-stretch.
