July 2, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will open a two-game set with the Rochester Red Wings at Coca-Cola Park on Thursday night. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. The IronPigs enter play at 33-48 on the year and have now won four in a row after sweeping a three-game set from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre earlier this week. Rochester sits in first place in the North Division at 43-36 and has now won five straight after sweeping Pawtucket in a four-game series.
RHP David Buchanan (1-0, 3.00) gets the ball for the Pigs on Thursday. The right-hander was just activated off the DL after spraining his ankle at Rochester on May 17. Buchanan made a pair of rehab starts for the GCL Phillies in which he went 1-0 with a 1.00 ERA, allowing just one earned in nine innings of work. This season with Lehigh Valley, he has walked just one batter in 15.0 IP.
RHP Greg Peavey (0-1, 4.76) will be on the bump for the Wings. Peavey got a no-decision in his last start on Sunday vs. Charlotte when he gave up two runs on five hits to go along with a walk and three strikeouts in five innings of work. The Vancouver, Wash. native will be making his third start of the year for Rochester after going 6-2 with a 4.66 ERA in 13 GS with Chattanooga (AA).
There will be Fireworks presented by Coors Light following the game and a pregame Happy Hour in the AT&T Plaza from 5 to 6 p.m. with $1 hot dogs and $2 domestic drafts.
