Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The IronPigs (33-48) play Game 1 of a two-game series -- and a five-game home-and-home set -- against the first-place Rochester Red Wings (43-36) at Coca-Cola Park... With a 3-2 walk-off* win over Scranton-WB in 10 innings last night, the Pigs swept the three-game series against the RailRiders -- knocking them out of first place while taking a 5-4 lead in the 2015 IronRail Series. Lehigh Valley has now won four consecutive games to improve to 4-2 on this eight-game homestand. The Pigs are also 12-7 in their last 19 contests after going 3-15 in their prior 18 affairs from May 24 to June 11... The Red Wings -- Minnesota's top affiliate -- won 8-4 last night to sweep a three-game, home series against Pawtucket. In fact, the Wings enter with a season-high, five-game winning streak -- and have gained 4.5 games in the standings in the last four days to reclaim the North Division lead. Prior to their recent hot streak, Rochester went 6-13 from June 6-26 after reaching a 2015 high-water mark at 31-28... The Wing took the last series -- which consisted of a doubleheader sweep on June 3 at Cola-Park -- after the teams split a four-gamer May 14-17 at Frontier Field.
RHP David Buchanan (1-0, 3.00) will start for LHV against RHP Greg Peavey (0-1, 4.76).
Tonight's game features postgame fireworks, presented by Coors Light... First Pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
