Today's Games
This afternoon the Bisons and Lehigh Valley IronPigs will play two games after Tuesday night's contest was postponed. The doubleheader will complete the series and overall six-game homestand for Buffalo, capped by a performance by the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. Tomorrow the Herd will head to Syracuse for a four-game series leading into the All-Star break.
Last Game: BUF 4, LHV 6
Buffalo lost the opening matchup against the visiting IronPigs on Monday, as Ryan Feierabend pitched 5.2 innings giving up five hits, including three home runs. The Bisons offense struck first, scoring in the first inning, and although they out-hit their opponent, it was not enough to push past Lehigh Valley.
Lehigh Valley IronPigs (6-8)
Buffalo and Lehigh Valley are meeting for the fifth time in 2019. The IronPigs are completing their final trip to Sahlen Field with today's twin bill. The two teams will play one more series this season at the end of the month for a quick two-game set in Lehigh Valley.
Today's Game 1 Starter
RHP T.J. Zeuch will start for the Bisons tonight in his third appearance with the team. He currently carries a 1-1 record with a 4.35 ERA and is holding both left- and right-handed batters under a .230 average. Zeuch's last start came in game one of their double header on 6/27 at Scranton where he took the loss after throwing 4.2 IP giving up seven hits and five earned runs.
Today's Game 2 Starter
LHP Tayler Saucedo is expected to start the nightcap of today's DH for the Herd. It will be the lefty's fourth start and tenth overall appearance with Buffalo this season. He is 4-0, with his last win coming on 6/15 at Louisville.
Jordan Patterson
1B Jordan Patterson led the Bisons offense yesterday finishing 3-3 on the night with a walk. He drove in two runs, and hit his team-leading 12th home run of the year in the Bisons late-game comeback attempt. He currently carries a seven game hit streak where he is batting 10-25 (.400).
Bisons Bits
As the Bisons finished the month of June with a winning record of 20-10, their power has shown as of late. Buffalo batters have hit home runs in eight of their last ten games, as well as 14 total during that span. As a team, they have hit 83 long balls in 2019.
Blue Jays Update
Toronto (32-54) dropped the opening game of their three-game series with the Boston Red Sox 10-6. Boston opened up a 4-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 1-4 with 2RBI, while UTIL Cavan Biggio and C Danny Jansen each had multi-hit games in the loss. The Blue Jays host Boston again tonight at 7:07 p.m.
