RUBBER MATCH FIREWORKS: The Louisville Bats and Indianapolis Indians square off in Louisville Slugger Field's final game before the 2019 All-Star break, with a series victory on the line. Last night, the Bats evened the series with a 6-1 win, going 3-1 in their last 4 games. Tonight, right-hander Keury Mella makes his fifth start against Indianapolis this season, as the Bats look to finish the homestand with a .500 record.

AGAINST INDIANAPOLIS: Louisville snapped a 4-game losing streak against Indianapolis last night, improving to 6-11 through the first 17 matchups between the IL West Division foes this season. With the 6-1 win on Tuesday, the Bats and Indians are knotted at 73 runs apiece against each other this season. LOU goes for its first series win at LSF over Indianapolis since winning both games of a 2-game series on August 24-25 last season.

O'GRADY REACHES 20: In the seventh inning last night, Brian O'Grady hit a three-run home run to increase the Bats' lead to 5-1, his 20th homer of the season. He became the 10th individual (and 12th season) to do it since LOU has been affiliated with the Reds:

Louisville 20 Home Run Seasons (Since 2000)

Season Player (HR)

2019 Brian O'Grady (20*)

2013 Mike Hessman (25)

2010 Wladimir Balentien (25)

2009 Kevin Barker (22)

2008 Kevin Barker (21)

2007 Joey Votto (22)

2003 Brandon Larson (20)

2002 Kevin Witt (24)

2002 Brandon Larson (25)

2001 Adam Dunn (20)

2000 Brooks Kieschnick (25)

2000 Mike Bell (22)

CAN'T SPELL BRIAN O'GRADY WITHOUT 'INDY': In 13 games against the Tribe this season, O'Grady is batting .333 (16-for-48) with 7 of his 20 homers this season (35%) coming against them, despite playing just 18% of his games (13 of 72) against them.

SEVEN DOUBLES: Louisville recorded 7 doubles as an offense, with each of the doubles coming from a different player in the 6-1 win. The 7 two-baggers are the most the Bats have registered in a game since April 11, 2018 vs. Columbus, also recording 7 that game. Rosell Herrera (2), Brandon Dixon (2), Steve Selsky, Sebastian Elizalde and D.J. Peterson doubled in an 8-2 Bats win.

BACK, JACK, DO IT AGAIN?: After taking 2 of 3 from Columbus from June 28-30 after rallying back from losing the series opener, LOU has a chance to do the same tonight against Indianapolis. With a win, the Bats would have their first back-to-back series wins since July 16-Aug. 1, 2018, when LOU won 5 consecutive series at Rochester (7/16-7/17), at Syracuse (7/19-7/22), vs./at Buffalo (7/24-7/26), vs. Rochester (7/27-7/29) and at Toledo (7/30-8/1).

NOT SO SECRET RECIPE FOR SUCCESS: Louisville pitchers Tejay Antone (W, 6.0ip, 1r, 6k), Joe Mantiply (1.0ip) and Joel Kuhnel (2.0ip, 3k) were stellar on Tuesday, not allowing a home run en route to a win. When LOU does not allow a homer this season, the club is 16-12 (.571), going 15-41 (.268) when allowing at least one home run.
