Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Canaries (10-14) failed to get a runner home in a 2-0 loss against the St. Paul Saints (13-12) on Monday night at Sioux Falls Stadium.

St. Paul took the lead in the top of the fifth inning. Heath Keel reached on an infield single and stole second base to get into scoring position. Sunday's extra-innings hero, Ryan Priddy, singled to score Keel and put the Saints ahead, 1-0.

The Saints extended their lead in the sixth inning. With two outs Tim Brown, Brent Krause, and Kevin Sullivan strung together three consecutive singles. Brown scored on the third and gave the Saints a 2-0 lead.

Mark Romanczuk (3-0) pitched eight shutout innings allowing three hits and striking out eight in the victory. Pat Mahomes (7-6) was saddled with the loss despite giving up a mere two runs on eight hits in a complete game effort. Mike Bille picked up his first save of the season in pitching the ninth inning to complete the shutout.
