Grand Prairie AirHogs News Release

Grand Prairie, TX (07.26.08) - The Grand Prairie AirHogs have announced that the contract for starting pitcher Kieran Mattison has been purchased by the Los Angeles Dodgers. He will report to the Double-A Jacksonville Suns in the Southern League.

"The experience in Grand Prairie with the fans and the new stadium was very rewarding," said Mattison. "Hopefully the team can keep rolling and win the championship."

In 14 starts with Grand Prairie, Mattison went 9-2 with a 2.42 ERA. He had 20 walks and 67 strikeouts in 85 1/2 innings pitched while having an opponents' batting average of .201. The Dallas, Texas resident was tied for second in the league in wins and third in ERA.

The 28-year-old was signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Kansas City Royals in 2002. He spent time in the Royals and Cleveland Indians Organization, advancing as high as Triple-A in 2005 with the Buffalo Bisons.

Mattison is the second AirHog to sign with an affiliated team this season. Starting pitcher Scot Drucker was picked up by the Detroit Tigers last week.
