In addition, the red-hot band CHARITY CASE, described as "the hottest cover band in the land" - and one which opened recently in Charlotte for Bon Jovi - will perform a live, one-hour concert on the ice, post-game. The concert is free to those who attend the Checkers game.

The five-member CHARITY CASE band is composed of Ace, lead vocalist and one-half of the top-rated Ace & TJ morning drive radio show on Kiss 95.1; Eddie Z, Music Director and lead guitarist; Clifton Vann, guitar; Eric "Big E" McRae on bass guitar; and Shane Marshall on drums.

The band made a commitment from the beginning to raise funds for Ace & TJ's Grin Kids, a 501(c)3 organization which benefits children who are terminally ill and chronically disabled, ages five to twelve, in the Charlotte area. The Checkers have pledged the first $2,500 in ticket sales to Grin Kids with the remainder of the funds split between the team and the charity. If the ticket is purchased via the CHARITY CASE website, the price of the ticket goes directly to Grin Kids (www.charitycaseband.com, then to the schedule banner and scroll down to Charlotte Checkers.)
