Grrrowl's Ellsworth Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Cam Ellsworth of the Greenville Grrrowl is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Jan. 23-29.

The 25-year-old rookie was 3-0-0 with two shutouts, a goals-against average of 0.65 and a save percentage of .973 as Greenville improved to 24-11-1 and moved into third place in the South Division.

The 6-foot-1 and 200-pound Ellsworth posted back-to-back shutouts, making 35 saves in an 8-0 win against Pensacola on Jan. 16 for his first professional shutout and 25 saves in a 6-0 win against second-place Gwinnett on Jan. 20. He closed out the week making 13 saves in a 3-2 overtime win at Charlotte on Jan. 21.

Signed by Greenville on Nov. 14, Ellsworth is 3-1-0 with two shutouts, a goals against of 0.99 and a save percentage of .957 in four games with the Grrrowl. He began the season with Augusta and was 0-1-0 with a goals against of 3.70 and a save percentage of .900 in one game with Lynx.

The native of Leamington, Ontario played four seasons at Michigan Tech from 2001-05 and was named Third Team All-WCHA and Academic All-WCHA.

Runners Up: Matt Underhill, Alaska (2-0-0, 2.00 GAA, .917 save pct.), Jeff Glass, Charlotte (3-0-0, 2.99 GAA, .915 save pct) and Kevin Nastiuk, Florida (1-0-0, 1.20 GAA, .968 save pct.).
