Indianapolis Indians News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - The Louisville Bats offense scored at least three runs in a single inning for the third time in as many games to beat the Indianapolis Indians on Thursday night, 5-1.

The Bats (41-57) scored first for the third time this series on a solo home run by TJ Friedl off Max Kranick (L, 2-4). They then tacked onto the lead with three runs in the fifth inning, a frame extended on miscues by the Indianapolis defense.

The Indians (45-53) countered with one run in the bottom half of the fifth when Hunter Owen came around following a leadoff single and scored on an error.

The Louisville offense wasn't done however, and scored one more run on an RBI single by Alfredo Rodriguez in the eighth inning.

Reiver Sanmartin (W, 5-2), allowed one unearned run over five innings to earn the win. Four Louisville relievers combined for four one-hit innings to end the game.

Indianapolis will look to break a four-game losing skid on Friday night at 7:05 PM ET against the Bats. RHP Beau Sulser (5-5, 4.55) will take the mound against RHP Riley O'Brien (6-6, 4.70).
