Bakersfield Lowers Boom on Thunder in Overtime, 2-1

February 10, 2007 - ECHL (ECHL)
Bakersfield Condors News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Tyler Scott scored the game-winner for the second straight game, this one in overtime, as the Bakersfield Condors tripped the Stockton Thunder, 2-1, Friday night, in front of 6,876 at Rabobank Arena. The win on Bobblehead Night kept the Condors in first place in the Pacific Division.

Like the game on Wednesday night, Alexandre Bolduc set up Scott with a great pass, and Scott buried it from the slot to give the Condors the victory.

After a scoreless first period, the Condors (28-12- 5, 61 points) broke the deadlock between the teams with a goal at 16:40 of the second. Good pressure by Bakersfield kept the puck in the Stockton zone, and Bolduc capitalized by jamming a rebound through Cam Ellsworth to make it 1- 0.

Todd Griffith had a chance to expand Bakersfield's lead with five minutes left in the third, but his shot hit the post and came back out.

Given new life, Stockton (21-13-9, 51 points) took advantage, and Nathan Martz scored on a breakaway to tie the game at 1-1 with just 3:34 left, setting up the extra session.

Notes: Scott now has four game-winning goals this season, including two in overtime. Jamie Hodson has now won four straight games, and is 10-1-1 in his last 12 outings and 22-5-3 overall.

The Condors are back in The Nest Monday night for a game against the Fresno Falcons, as KERN 1410 AM presents President's Day Poster Giveaway, with all fans receiving a poster of Mount Condor, featuring Mike Hofstrand, Kevin St. Jacques, Kevin Truelson and Sean Venedam.
