Inferno's power play burns Titans, 2-1

COLUMBIA, SC (February 10, 2007) - Two third-period power play goals by the Columbia Inferno sank the Trenton Titans, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon at the Carolina Coliseum.

After a scoreless first two periods the Inferno got on the board during a 4-on-3 man-advantage when Mike Jarmuth was walk into the slot and blast a slap shot past Joel Martin at 1:21 of the third.

Columbia used yet another 4-on-3 power play goal to make the score 2-0 at 11:13 as Bryson Busniuk poked the rebound from Chris Thompson's shot into the open net.

With the Titans skating with the extra attacker, Mike Pandolfo got his team on the board with just 1:07 remaining in regulation, batting a loose puck over Robert Gherson's pad for his 34th goal of the season.

Trenton would be unable get the game-tying tall and Martin would suffer the loss despite stopping 37-of-39 shots.

The Titans went 0-for-6 on the power play and 10-for-12 on the penalty kill.
