RoadRunners' Dave Pszenyczny Medical Update

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Phoenix RoadRunners defenseman Dave Pszenyczny underwent surgery earlier this morning at Alaska Regional Hospital to repair multiple severed tendons and arteries in his right forearm following an injury suffered during Friday's RoadRunners game at Alaska.

Pszenyczny, 21, was cut along the forearm by the blade of an Alaska player's skate late in the third period as the two players battled for the puck along the boards in the RoadRunners' zone.

Pszenyczny emerged from surgery in good spirits and is currently resting comfortably at Alaska Regional. He has been placed on the 30-day injured reserve.

In separate transactions, the RoadRunners have also placed defenseman Dusty Demianiuk on the three-day injured reserve, and have activated forwards Tommy Maxwell and Dan Riedel from the injured reserve.

The RoadRunners continue their three-game series with the defending Kelly Cup Champion Alaska Aces at 9:15 p.m. Saturday at Sullivan Arena in Anchorage. Catch all the action live beginning with "RoadRunners Countdown" at 8:55 p.m. by logging on to www.phxroadrunners.com.

Phoenix returns to US Airways Center at 7:11 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16 as they host the Alaska Aces in the opening game of a two-game set. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
