Rays battle Bombers tonight

N. Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays and Dayton Bombers play tonight at a special 5 p.m. start time at the North Charleston Coliseum. Hear all the play-be-play action live on the Real 1340am and online at www.stingrayshockey.com beginning at 6:50 p.m. with the Benito's Pre-game Show.

Tonight marks the first meeting of the two teams this season and only their fifth meeting overall. The Stingrays overall record against the Bombers is 2-1-1.

The Bombers are 22-15-4 this season for 48 points and third place in the North Division. Dayton is 12-8-2 on the road. The team is led by goalie Adam Berkhoel who is 20-11-3 in 34 games and leads the league in goals-against average with 3.24. Yannick Tifu has the most points on the Bombers squad with a total of 45 (17g-28); Tifu has scored 33 points (15g-18a) with Dayton and the rest with the Phoenix Roadrunners where he began the season.

The Stingrays have 51 points this year with a 24-18-3 record and are sitting in sixth place in the South Division. The Rays are 12-8-2 at home and currently have a six-game home winning streak. Evan Schwabe is leading the Stingrays with 43 points (15g-28a). With each win goalie Davis Parley collects the remainder of the season he is increasing his career-high. Parley currently has 22 wins.

Both South Carolina and Dayton are on a 0-1-0 streak with the Stingrays losing in Charlotte on Thursday night and the Bombers losing to Columbia last night.
