Grizzlies Drop Second Straight To Ice Dogs

West Valley City, Utah - The Long Beach Ice Dogs defeated the Utah Grizzlies 6-2 Saturday night at the E-Center before 4,387 fans and 111 dogs for the first annual "Pooch on the Pond" game.

Utah jumped up 1-0, 1:09 into the first period on a goal from Jimmie Kraft assisted by Joel Irving and D.J. Jelitto. The Ice Dogs tied the game at one on a shorthanded goal by Bo Cheesman at 14:07 of the first before taking a 2-1 lead at 17:21 of the first by Terry Harrison.

In the second, each team traded goals with Long Beach striking first and Utah answering 1:08 later with a Blake Robson redirection at 17:34. The score was 3-2 after 40 minutes.

In the third, Long Beach scored three straight power-play goals to complete the 6-2 victory.

Andy Sertich extended his scoring streak to eight with an assist in the game.

Prior to the game, Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie announced that forward Matt Craig has been recalled by the AHL's Manitoba Moose.

The Grizzlies return to the E-Center Wednesday hosting Fresno at 7:05 p.m.
