
Aulin Out As Monarchs Open Two-Game Set With Admirals

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire - Rookie center Jared Aulin will not be in the lineup tonight when the Manchester Monarchs meet the Norfolk Admirals at the SCOPE in Norfolk, Virginia, at 7:15 p.m. Aulin, 20, who leads the Monarchs with 29 assists and ranks sixth on the team in overall points with 38 (9g, 29a), will he held out of the next four Monarchs games with a mild knee sprain. The Monarchs play at Norfolk tonight and on Friday, at Hershey against the Bears on Saturday and at Philadelphia against the Phantoms on Sunday. Aulin was injured in the Monarchs 2-2 tie with the Hartford Wolf Pack on Sunday, Feb. 23, at the Hartford Civic Center.
Right wing Pavel Rosa, like Aulin, didn't join the Monarchs on their tour of the Western Conference's South Division. Rosa, 25, is still mending from a knee injury suffered against the Manitoba Moose at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Wednesday, Feb. 5.
The Monarchs also today recalled defenseman Mat Snesrud from the Reading Royals of the East Coast Hockey League. Snesrud, 24, skated in the Monarchs game against the Wolf Pack on Sunday. He was then assigned to Reading after the game. The native of Cloquet, Minnesota, has two assists and eight penalty minutes in 13 games with the Monarchs this season. Defenseman Ray DiLauro, who signed a professional tryout agreement (PTO) and made his Monarchs debut vs. the Wolf Pack on Sunday, was released from his contract on Monday.
The start time for the Monarchs game at Philadelphia against the Phantoms on Sunday, Mar. 2, has been changed from 5:05 to 6:05 p.m. Sunday's game, and all games on the Monarchs four-game sweep through the Southern tier of the AHL, will be broadcast live on the Monarchs Radio Network (610 WGIR, 930 WGIN, 1540 WGIP, and 1400 WTSL) with Ken Cail serving as the play-by-play host. The Monarchs (30-16-8-3, 71 points) have played the fewest games in the Eastern Conference heading into tonight's contest with the Admirals (30-17-7-4, 71 points). The Monarchs won the season series against Norfolk last year, going 2-1-1-0 overall and 1-0-1-0 at the SCOPE. The Monarchs are in the early stages of a season-long 10-game stretch away from home. The Monarchs next home game is set for Friday, Mar. 14 vs. the Lowell Lock Monsters at the Verizon Wireless Arena (7:35 p.m.). Only a few hundred tickets remain for that game.
