Bonvie becomes AHL's all-time PIM leader

With a minor penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct at the 9:58 mark of the first period tonight in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., Binghamton Senators forward Dennis Bonvie became the American Hockey League's all-time leader in penalty minutes.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins defeated Binghamton, 6-3. The referee for the game was Ryan Fraser, son of veteran NHL official Kerry Fraser.

Bonvie, playing his 539th career AHL contest, also incurred a charging minor, a cross-checking minor and a 10-minute misconduct to finish with 16 penalty minutes on the evening. He now has 2,916 PIM for his 10-year career.

Current Springfield Falcons captain Rob Murray is now second all-time with 2,901 PIM in 999 career AHL games. Murray is back in action on Friday night.

AHL legend Fred Glover, who retired in 1968, is third on the all-time list with 2,402 penalty minutes.
