
Canucks recall Moss; Moose sign goalie Patrick Couture to a PTO

Today the Vancouver Canucks announced that they have recalled goaltender Tyler Moss from the Manitoba Moose and the Moose announced that they have signed netminder Patrick Couture (Coo-TOUR) to a pro tryout contract.
Moss, 27, has played in 28 games for Manitoba this season and posted a 12-11-4 record with a 3.19 Avg. and a Save Pct. of .893. He follows up a first star performance against the St. John's Maple Leafs on Tuesday when he made 21 saves in the 2-1 victory. Moss has started four consecutive games over the last week (Feb. 19-25) and he has seen action in seven of the last eight Moose matches. The veteran netminder is undefeated in his last four games with Manitoba.
Moss was recalled earlier this season on Dec. 21/02 and has played one NHL game this season with Vancouver, stopping 13 shots in 22:27 in the Dec. 23 match versus the Colorado Avalanche for a 2.73 Avg. and .929 Save Pct. Last season, Moss played in 43 AHL games for the Lowell Lock Monsters, posting a 20-16-7 record with a 2.47 Avg. and a Save Pct. of .929.
Couture, 24, has played 35 games this season with the Columbia Inferno of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) and has a record of 24-10-0, a Save Pct. of .915 and is tied for the league-lead with four shutouts. He also leads the ECHL with a 2.43 Avg. The Quebec City native has been victorious in six of his last seven starts. Couture was named the ECHL Goalie of the Week for January 13-19. During the week, he was 3-0 with two shutouts, a 0.33 Avg. and Save Pct. of ..988 in three starts.
Couture split the season with the Quebec Citadelles (AHL) and the Adirondack IceHawks (UHL). With Adirondack, he played 24 games and recorded a 14-8-1 mark with a 2.65 Avg. and a Save Pct. of .916. In three games with the Citadelles, the 5'11" goalie had a 0-1-0 record with a 4.42 Avg. and a Save Pct. of .919.
