
Atlanta Recalls Mannino and Maxwell, Returns Machacek to Chicago

The Atlanta Thrashers have recalled goaltender PETER MANNINO and center BEN MAXWELL from the Chicago Wolves. In addition, Atlanta has reassigned right wing SPENCER MACHACEK to the Wolves.
MANNINO kicked out 26 of 28 shots in the Wolves 5-2 win over the Peoria Rivermen on Saturday. The 27-year-old netminder has amassed a 15-14-3 record, 3.02 goals-against average and .896 save percentage in a team high 35 appearances this season.
MAXWELL, who was traded to Atlanta along with a fourth round selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by Montreal in exchange for defenseman BRENT SOPEL and forward NIGEL DAWES on Thursday, has not appeared in any games with Chicago. He notched 40 points (11G, 29A) in 47 American Hockey League games with the Hamilton Bulldogs this season. His 29 assists and 40 points ranked second on Hamilton at the time of the trade.
MACHACEK has been held scoreless in 10 National Hockey League games with the Thrashers this season.
The 22-year-old forward ranks fourth on Chicago with 42 points (16G, 26A) in 49 games this season. His 16 goals rank third on the Wolves, while his 26 assists hold sixth.
The Lethbridge, Alberta, native has appeared in 12 career NHL outings with the Thrashers and 205 career American Hockey League games with the Wolves, notching 59 goals and 139 points, spanning three seasons (2008 to present.)
The Wolves visit the Peoria Rivermen at Carver Arena on Tue., March 1, at 7 p.m.
