Montreal Acquires Drew Macintyre from the Atlanta in Return for Brett Festerling

MONTREAL, QC - The Montreal Canadiens announced today that the team has acquired goaltender Drew MacIntyre from the Atlanta Thrashers, in return for defenceman Brett Festerling. MacIntyre is scheduled to join the Hamilton Bulldogs.

MacIntyre, 27, has played in 20 games with the Chicago Wolves this season posting a record of 12-5-1 along with a 2.91 goals-against-average and a .906 save-percentage. The native of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island has a record of 130-79-11 in 240 AHL games along with a 2.44 goals-against-average, a .915 save-percentage and 13 shutouts. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound goaltender has played in two NHL games, both with the Vancouver Canucks in 2007-2008, losing once and displaying a 2.95 goals-against-average along with a .894 save-percentage. MacIntyre was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the 4th round, 121st overall in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

Festerling, 24, played in 48 games with the Syracuse Crunch and Bulldogs in the 2010-2011 season recording 16 points (three goals, 13 assists) along with 56 penalty minutes. Festerling was acquired by Montreal from the Anaheim Ducks on December 31st, 2010 in the transaction that sent Maxim Lapierre to the Ducks.

The Bulldogs will host the Milwaukee Admirals on Wednesday, March 2nd for a 7:00 p.m. game at Copps Coliseum. All regular season Hamilton Bulldogs broadcasts on AM 820 CHAM will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
