
Phantoms Acquire Tom Sestito

The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they have acquired 6-5, 228-lb left wing Tom Sestito from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for RW/C Greg Moore and the rights to center Michael Chaput, according to general manager Paul Holmgren. Sestito will report to the Flyers' American Hockey League affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms.
Sestito, 23 (9/28/1987), was a third-round selection (85th overall) of the Blue Jackets in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. The 2010-11 season was his fourth in the Columbus organization. He has spent most of the campaign with the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Falcons, where he has posted 11 goals and 21 assists for 32 points in 46 games while racking up 192 penalty minutes, which ranks fifth among all AHL players. He also appeared in nine games for the Blue Jackets this season, contributing two goals and two assists and recording 40 penalty minutes.
Sestito has collected exactly 700 penalty minutes in exactly 200 American Hockey League games over his four seasons with Springfield and Columbus's previous AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch. His AHL career totals also include 36 goals and 56 assists for 92 points. He has four other NHL games to his credit, all with Columbus - three last year and one in 2007-08.
Sestito is expected to be assigned to the Phantoms. His first three games with the Phantoms would be against the Albany Devils where his older brother Tim Sestito plays.
Moore, 26 (3/26/1984), returns to the Blue Jackets organization, where he spent the 2009-10 campaign. He was signed as a free agent on July 10, 2010. Moore appeared in 57 games for the Phantoms this season, scoring 7 goals and adding 13 assists.
Chaput, 18 (4/8/1992), was selected by the Flyers in the third round (89th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He has 22 goals and 33 assists for 55 points in 55 games this season with the Lewiston MAINEiacs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey Leag
