Forney Sent to Gwinnett

The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned left wing MICHAEL FORNEY from the Chicago Wolves to the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators.

FORNEY has appeared in seven games with the Wolves this season, notching one assist.

The 22-year-old forward ranks first on the Gwinnett Gladiators and shares third in the ECHL with 39 assists and paces the team and is tied for 10th in the league with 53 points in 51 games this season. His 14 goals also rank second on the Gladiators.

The Thief River Falls, Minn., native made his professional debut in three games with Chicago last year, and amassed 11 goals, 26 points and 66 penalty minutes in 63 ECHL contests with the Gwinnett during his rookie campaign.

The Wolves visit the Peoria Riverman at Carver Arena on Tue., March 1, at 7 p.m.
