Canucks Re-Assign Hodgson & Oreskovich to Moose

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, today announced they have re-assigned forwards Cody Hodgson and Victor Oreskovich to the Moose.

Hodgson, 21, has appeared in 33 games with the Moose this season. The native of Markham, ON has scored 18 points (12g, 6a) in that time and collected 10 penalty minutes. Hodgson was originally recalled by the Canucks on Jan. 30/11, after which he scored his first NHL goal on Feb. 2/11 vs. Phoenix. He was re-assigned to the Moose on Feb. 11/11 and played five games with Manitoba before being recalled once again on Feb. 21/11. In total, he's played in eight games with the Canucks recording one goal and one assist with no penalty minutes.

Earlier this season with the Moose, Hodgson had a six-game points streak which saw him collect 10 points (6g, 4a). Hodgson previously played in 11 Calder Cup playoff games with the Moose in 2009 where he scored six points (4g, 2a). Hodgson won a Gold Medal with Team Canada at the 2009 IIHF Under-20 World Championships. He was originally drafted by Vancouver in the first round, 10th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Oreskovich, 24, appeared in 31 games for the Moose prior to being recalled by Vancouver on Feb. 12/11. With the Moose this season, he has 11 points (4g, 7a) and 27 penalty minutes. The Whitby, ON native played in eight games while with the Canucks recording one assist and two penalty minutes. In his career, Oreskovich has played 58 NHL games last with Vancouver and Florida in which he's recorded seven points (2g, 5a) and 28 penalty minutes. He has played in 65 career AHL games with Rochester and Manitoba where he has 26 points (10g, 16a) and 45 penalty minutes. Oreskovich was originally drafted by Colorado in the second round, 55th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
