Canucks Trade Evan Oberg to Florida Panthers

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, today announced they have traded defenceman Evan Oberg to the Florida Panthers in exchange for forward Chris Higgins and a third round draft pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

Oberg, 23, has played in 38 games so far this season with Manitoba. In that time, he's scored 11 points (7g, 4a) and 26 penalty minutes. He has a pair of multi-point games with Manitoba this season. Oberg has played in 109 career games in two seasons with the Moose where he's scored 37 points (10g, 27a) and collected 88 penalty minutes. He has played in four NHL games in his career with Vancouver.
