Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders News Release
ALLENTOWN, PA - New York Yankees outfielder Miguel Andújar has joined the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders today on a Major League rehab assignment. Andújar will lead off and serve as the RailRiders designated hitter in their series finale at Lehigh Valley beginning at 1:35 P.M.
Andújar was placed on the 10-Day Injured List on July 10 with a left wrist sprain. He began the season in Triple-A with the RailRiders, but was recalled on May 13. Over 45 games for the Yankees this season, Andújar is batting .253 with six home runs and 12 runs batted in.
The 26 year-old played two games in August for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on a rehab assignment, but has not appeared in a game at any level since August 18.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre concludes the 2021 regular season today at Lehigh Valley and has ten games remaining as part of Triple-A Baseball's Final Stretch. The RailRiders have five games at PNC Field remaining this year, returning home from September 22-26 to host the Syracuse Mets. Tickets are available at swbrailriders.com.
