All-time high 29 teams to compete in league's 72nd season

American Hockey League President and CEO, David Andrews, announced that the league's Board of Governors have approved the following conference and division alignment for the AHL's 2007-08 season.

The Sound Tigers will remain in the East Division as a part of the Eastern Conference. The only changes to the Eastern Conference are affiliation moves. The Springfield Falcons are the new affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers and the Norfolk Admirals are the new affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Western Conference will welcome three new cities to the AHL for the upcoming season, the Lake Erie Monsters, Quad City Flames and Rockford IceHogs. The Monsters are the new AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche and will compete in the North Division, while the Flames, new affiliate of the Calgary Flames, and IceHogs, new affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks, will do battle in the West Division.
