Chicago Wolves News Release

The Chicago Wolves will stay in the American Hockey League's West Division after the league re-aligned its two-conference, four-division format to expand to 29 teams for the 2007-08 season.

The Wolves will compete against two new rivals in the eight-team division: the Quad City Flames and Rockford IceHogs, and five traditional foes: the Iowa Stars, Houston Aeros, Milwaukee Admirals, Peoria Rivermen and San Antonio Rampage. Chicago will meet the Admirals, IceHogs, and Rivermen 10 times each, the Flames and Stars eight times apiece, and the Aeros and Rampage six times each during its 14th regular season.

Chicago will also play 18 games against North Division teams, featuring the Grand Rapids Griffins, Hamilton Bulldogs, Manitoba Moose, Rochester Americans, Syracuse Crunch, Toronto Marlies and Lake Erie Monsters - one of three new clubs in the league next season.

In addition, the Wolves are scheduled to match up against the Atlantic Division's Manchester Monarchs - marking the first-ever meeting between the franchises - and Providence Bruins twice next year.

Priority dates for Chicago's 14th campaign, along with the complete 2007-08 AHL regular-season schedule and the format for the 2008 Calder Cup Playoffs, will be released later this summer.
