Albany Devils Shuffle Goaltenders

ALBANY, N.Y. - Goaltender Dave Caruso has been recalled by the Albany Devils (AHL) from Trenton (ECHL), while goaltender Jeff Lerg has been released by Albany from his professional tryout contract and will return to Trenton. The announcement was made by Albany and Trenton General Manager Chris Lamoriello.

Caruso, 28, is on his fourth recall and has appeared in 14 games at the AHL level this season. He is 5-6-0 with a 3.85 goals-against average and a .875 save percentage. The Queens, N.Y. native registered his first career AHL shutout by making 37 saves at Charlotte on Feb. 15. While in Trenton, Caruso has played 20 games, posting a 5-10-4 record with a 3.24 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage.

Lerg, 24, has spent the majority of the season with Trenton, playing 18 games with a 7-10-0 record, a 3.45 goals-against average and a .890 save percentage. The Livonia, Mich. native has signed three PTOs this season with Albany: Nov. 26, Feb. 7 and Mar. 9.

The AHL Devils travel to Adirondack tonight for a 7:30 contest, which is the ninth game of the Time Warner Cable Cup. The series is tied, 4-4. The game can be heard on 104.5 FM "The Team" ESPN Radio or online at AHLLive.com.
