
Pirates Open Voting for Player Awards

Portland, ME ¬" The Portland Pirates announced that ballots are now being accepted for the 2010-11 Pirates Player Awards, presented by Creative Awards.
Fans can vote online for the Pirates Year-End Player Awards, which will be presented to the winners in an on-ice, post-game ceremony following the regular season home game on Sunday, April 10th against Springfield at 4:00 p.m. Voting will take place on line or at the Customer Service Table in the main lobby during the seven remaining Pirates home games in March on the 12th (Providence), 13th (Manchester), 22nd (Worcester), 25th (Bridgeport), 26th (Charlotte), 29th (Providence), and 30th (Bridgeport).
Fans have the opportunity to vote for the most deserving player for the following awards:
Most Valuable Player (MVP) sponsored by Maine Medical Center
The player who you feel has contributed the most to the team's success this season.
Unsung Hero
The player who you feel has surpassed all expectations this season to be one of the club's most valuable assets.
Most Popular Player
The player you admire the most.
Only one entry per person and voting will conclude on Friday, April 1st at midnight ET.
Portland will be back in action tonight when they travel to Springfield for showdown with the Falcons in a 7:30 p.m. start. The game can be heard live on 95.5 News Talk WLOB or on-line at www.portlandpirates.com beginning with the pre-game show at 7:15 p.m. live from the MassMutual Center.
The Pirates will return to the Civic Center for two divisional games this weekend, beginning on Saturday at 7 p.m. when the Providence Bruins come to town. It ¬â¢s another Bud Light Hockey Night in Portland and the first 5,000 fans into the game will receive a Pirates poster courtesy of the Portland Press Herald.
First-place in the Atlantic Division may be on the line Sunday when the Manchester Monarchs visit for a 4 p.m. start. The first 4,000 fans into the game will receive a free Pirates hat courtesy of Time Warner Cable. Bring your skates and stick around after the game to skate with your favorite members of the Pirates presented by Mercy Hospital and Steele Hill Resorts. Fans can purchase five Main Deck Tickets, five Daily Scrolls, and five free Chuck-a-Pies for only $60 (valued at $100 if purchased individually). All NextGen Pirates Kid ¬â¢s Club Members receive free tickets to the game, and special activities for NextGen Pirates Kid ¬â¢s Club Members only.
