Portland Pirates News Release
SPRINGFIELD, MA ¬" Luke Adam and Brian Roloff each scored twice to lead the Portland Pirates to a 5-3 win over the Springfield Falcons in an American Hockey League game played tonight in front of 4,362 at the MassMutual Center.
Mark Voakes also scored for the Pirates while Marc-Andre Gragnani collected a pair of assists. Portland improved to 39-17-5-2 with their fifth straight win. The victory, combined with Manchester ¬â¢s 3-1 loss to Worcester, moved the Pirates into first place in the Atlantic Division.

The Pirates jumped out quickly as Roloff scored just 18 seconds into the game to give Portland a 1-0 lead. Kubalik evened the count seven minutes into the period only to see Adam restore the Pirates one-goal advantage just 30 seconds later. Voakes, with his third in as many games, struck 64 seconds after that to complete the first-period scoring and give the Pirates a 3-1 lead after one. Goertzen connected midway through the period to cut the Pirates lead to two but just 26 seconds later Adam ¬â¢s second of the game put Portland up 5-2, a lead they carried into the third. Wilson completed the scoring with the lone goal of the third.
