Houston Aeros News Release

HOUSTON --- Rookie defenseman Nate Prosser scored his eighth goal of the season while rookie goalie Matt Hackett made 37 saves as the Houston Aeros earned a standings point in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Manitoba Moose in front of 7,633 fans on Friday night at Toyota Center.

The shootout point moved the Aeros within one point of first place in the West Division thanks to Milwaukee's 2-0 loss at home against Rockford.

Manitoba took a 1-0 lead on Mario Bliznak's 10th goal of the season at the 14:46 mark of the first period. Yann Sauve and Shawn Weller picked up the helpers. That was the only chip in Houston goalie Matt Hackett's armor on 18 opening stanza shots, a mark that tied a season high for opponent shots in the first period.

Prosser forced extra time with a power play goal at the 9:38 mark of the third period. Robbie Earl and Jarod Palmer earned the assists
