Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee, WI--Milwaukee Admirals President Jon Greenberg announced today that the team will open their 2008-09 season on Saturday, October 11th at 7:00 pm in San Antonio against the Rampage. After three road games, the Ads will embark on the home portion of their schedule on Saturday, October 18th at 7:30 pm against the Rockford IceHogs at the Bradley Center. The Admirals will play an 80-game, unbalanced schedule that will conclude almost exactly six months later when the team hosts the Chicago Wolves on Friday, April 10th.
"The 2008-09 season promises to be another exciting year for us, both on and off the ice," noted Greenberg, who begins his fourth season at the head of the Admirals ship. "With all of the fun and entertaining promotions and an exciting team on the ice, we will continue to provide our fans with a fantastic experience when they visit the Bradley Center."
At the home opener, all fans in attendance will receive a schedule magnet of the 2008-09 season, courtesy of Old Orchard. The team's popular FM106/Miller Lite Country Music night is slated for Friday, January 23rd, however the artist is yet to be determined. The entire promotional schedule will be released at a future date.
Unlike previous seasons, the Admirals will face just one new opponent during the course of the 08-09 campaign. The Ads will battle the Lake Erie Monsters, the AHL Affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche for the first time on Wednesday, October 22nd in Cleveland. The Monsters, who will begin their second season in the league, make their first-ever visit to the Bradley Center on Friday, March 20th.
March is the busiest month of the season for the Ads, as the team will play 15 contests during the third month with seven of those games taking place at home and eight coming on the road. Both December and January will see the Admirals play 14 contests. April is the least populated month with just six games, but all of them will be within the first ten days.
