
Lowell Devils Announce 2008-09 Schedule

LOWELL, Mass. - The Lowell Devils, American Hockey League affiliate of the New Jersey Devils, announced their 2008-09 regular season schedule today. The Devils will open their third season in the AHL on the road against the Providence Bruins on October 8th.
The Devils' begin their home schedule at the Tsongas Arena on Saturday, October 11th at 7:00 p.m., when they battle the Worcester Sharks. Lowell will host 40 regular season games at home this season, including 26 weekend contests (Friday, Saturday or Sunday).
The Devils will take the ice against Atlantic Division opponents 58 times this year. They will play 10 games each (five at home/five on the road) against the Manchester Monarchs, Portland Pirates, Providence Bruins, Springfield Falcons and Worcester Sharks. The Devils and Hartford Wolf Pack will also renew their rivalry with eight games (4/4) during the upcoming season.
Home games played Monday through Saturday start at 7:00 p.m., while Sunday matches will begin at 4:00 p.m. The Devils will have a special start time of 4:00 p.m. on Veterans' Day, Tuesday, November 11 and 2:00 p.m. on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, January 19. Lowell will host two Saturday matinees on November 22 and February 28 that will begin at 1:30 p.m. Finally, the Devils will be holding a School Day Game on Tuesday, March 24 at 11:00 a.m., as they face-off against the Manchester Monarchs.
Lowell's longest homestand will span three games, which will occur three times over the course of the season. Their longest stint away from Tsongas Arena will be a four-game trip from Friday, March 13 to Wednesday, March 18.
