
Admirals Recall Defenseman Teigan Zahn from Utah

NORFOLK, VA -- The Norfolk Admirals announced Friday that defenseman Teigan Zahn has been recalled from the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL.
Zahn, 24, joins the Admirals having posted 8 points (3g, 5a), 90 penalty minutes, and a -4 rating with Utah this season. Last season, the 6-2, 217-pound blueliner logged an assist in five games played with the Oklahoma City Barons (AHL) last season, and also registered 13 points (5g, 8a) and 68 penalty minutes with the Stockton Thunder (ECHL).
The Bethune, Saskatchewan native totaled 64 points (12g, 52a) and 551 penalty minutes in five seasons played for the Saskatoon Blades (WHL) from 2006-2011. Zahn also recorded 15 points in one season at the University of Calgary in 2011-12.
Zahn was originally drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the fifth-round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, but re-entered the draft in 2010 and was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the seventh-round. Zahn attended Norfolk's 2013 training camp in October.

The Admirals return home on January 17 & 18 to battle the Worcester Sharks. Saturday, January 18 is Pink in the Rink. Come out and show your support in the fight against breast cancer. The Admirals will be skating on pink ice for that game.
