Toronto Marlies News Release
The Toronto Marlies defeated the St. John's IceCaps, AHL affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets, by a score of 3-2 tonight at Mile One Centre in Newfoundland.
The Marlies would open up a 2-0 lead just over three minutes into the game on goals from Petter Granberg and Peter Holland. Sam Carrick tallied his fifth goal of the season at 18:43 of the middle frame to give Toronto a three goal lead heading in the final period. Kael Mouillerat and Andrew Gordon notched goals in the final 20 minutes, but the IceCaps were unable to tie the game.
