
Monsters Invade Barn this Weekend

Rockford, Ill.- Tonight starts a back-to-back weekend match up for the Rockford IceHogs against the Lake Erie Monsters, marking the final two meetings of the season between these two clubs. The puck hits the ice at 7 p.m.

Every IceHogs regular season and postseason game, home and road, can be viewed on Antenna TV, channel 23.2 in the Rockford area. The Monsters (17-13-0-3) are currently in 8th place going into tonight's game with the IceHogs (16-17-3-2) in 9th place in the Western Conference and both teams are tied at 37 points apiece.
Center Joakim Nordstrom stretched his team season best point streak to nine straight games when he marked an assist on Wednesday night in Grand Rapids. During his nine game hot stretch, dating back to Dec. 20, Nordstrom has 4g-8a-12pts. Overall this season, Nordstrom ranks second on the IceHogs with 11g-10a-21pts and a team best +8 plus/minus rating.
Lake Erie and Rockford met back in October at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland in a back-to-back match up where they split the weekend with one win and one loss resulting for each team. The winning team in both games scored five goals to defeat the other.
Next Home Game: Saturday, Jan. 11 against the Lake Erie Monsters. The Monsters are back for the final showdown of the season at the BMO. The first 2,500 fans will receive a fleece blanket courtesy of OSF Saint Anthony's to help you warm up during this polar vortex.
