Milwaukee Admirals News Release

Milwaukee, WI--Defenseman Jimmy Oligny scored his first pro goal, but the Admirals dropped a 6-2 decision to the Chicago Wolves in Amtrak Rivalry action at the BMO Harris Bradley Center on Friday night.

The loss extended their home-losing streak to six games. Milwaukee hasn't won at the BMOHBC since November 26.

Despite better scoring chances early on for the Admirals, it was the Wolves who took an early 1-0 lead on a Shane Harper goal with 5:56 left in the first. Harper and Terry Broadhurst came into the Ads zone 2-on-1 and Broadhurst fed Harper and he beat Milwaukee goalie Magnus Hellberg high, glove side.

The Wolves made it 3-0 with a pair of quick goals in the middle of the second period. The first came on the power-play when Jeremy Welsh deflected the puck off the skate of Admirals defenseman Joe Piskula and into the net at 9:48. Just 38 seconds later defenseman Brett Regner's wrister gave the Wolves a three goal lead.

The lead went to 4-0 off a pretty backhander by Ty Rattie with 4:35 left in the second.

Miikka Salomaki finally got the Admirals on the board with 1:49 left in the second period. Joe Pendenza carried the puck deep in the Chicago zone, down to the goal line. He pass through the crease to Austin Watson, who tipped back across the crease to a crashing Salomaki, and he went top-shelf for the goal.

However, almost before the fans were back in their seats, the Wolves pushed the lead back up to four with 34 seconds left in the second on a Phil McRae goal.

After Cody Beech made it 6-1 Wolves, Oligny scored his first career goal with just 12 seconds remaining in the game on a wrister from the high slot.

The Ads head to Iowa on Monday night before returning to the BMOHBC on Tuesday, December 30th to battle the Grand Rapids Griffins at 7 pm.
