P-Bruins Fall to Bridgeport Sound Tigers, 2-0

Bridgeport, CT - The puck dropped at the Webster Bank Arena at 7:00PM tonight for the Providence Bruins' first road game of the weekend.

The Providence Bruins played solid defense keeping the first period scoreless while killing off three penalties. Malcolm Subban saved all 12 shots he faced. The Providence Bruins had 7 shots on the Bridgeport net for the period.

In the second period, The Providence Bruins had an opportunity to break the tie with a power play, but could not capitalize on the man advantage. The score remained 0-0 as Providence out shot Bridgeport 12-7 in the period, bringing the shot totals to 19-19. The Providence Bruins held off another Bridgeport power play, making it 4/4 on the penalty kill.

Both teams entered the third period still looking to score the games first goal. It didn't take long as The Sound Tigers struck first scoring at 1:24 into the period. The score remained 1-0 for just a short amount of time as Bridgeport scored the games second goal at 3:38 making it 2-0. The Providence Bruins pulled their goalie with a little over a minute and a half in a final attempt to get on the board. Despite having a power play for the last 42 seconds of the game, The Providence Bruins could not put the puck in the net and ultimately fell to The Bridgeport Sound Tigers 2-0.
