Hamilton Bulldogs News Release
The Marlies jumped out to a 3-0 lead with three first period goals.
Forward Matt Frattin opened the scoring on the power play at the 6:37 mark, picking up a rebound in the slot and tucking away his sixth goal of the season. Earning assists on the play were forwards Greg McKegg and Connor Brown.
At 9:40, forward Brad Ross took a nifty pass from linemate Sam Carrick and picked a corner for his third goal of the season. Petter Granberg also added a helper on the 2-0 goal for the Marlies.
Toronto completed its first-period offensive outburst with 5:39 remaining in the frame when forward Spencer Abbott tallied his sixth marker of the 2014-15 campaign. The goal put the Marlies up by three and was assisted by McKegg and defenceman Eric Knodel.
After a scoreless middle stanza, forward Troy Bodie gave the Marlies a 4-0 lead with his fifth goal of the season. Forward Jamie Devane slipped a pass through to the front of the Bulldogs net where Bodie snapped home a shot to the far side.
The Bulldogs were unable to respond and were shutout in a game for the first time this season.
Between the pipes, Mike Condon stopped 29 of the 33 shots he faced in the loss for the Bulldogs. Christopher Gibson earned the win for the Marlies and posted his first shutout of the season.
Hamilton went 0-for-4 on the power play, while Toronto was 1-for-4 with a man advantage.
