PEORIA, Ill. (March 11, 2009) - The Peoria Rivermen will be hosting their first "green" event in team history on Sunday when they battle the Quad City Flames at 3 p.m. ActOnEnergy.com presents WMBD/Rivermen Environmental Action Day in association with Bauer Power, The Farnsworth Group and AFE Construction.
The first 500 fans in attendance will receive an ENERGY STAR light bulb with a z-card information pack, courtesy of ActOnEnergy.com. Fans will also be able to learn about many energy-saving tips and products from area businesses that are leading the way in "green" initiatives. These businesses will have their informational booths on display in the main concourse throughout the game.
It is also the final Comcast/Journal Star/Fun on the Run/Coke Family Day of the season. Tickets for children 12 and under will be available for just $1 at the box office. From 2-3p.m. in the Great Hall there will be free balloon animals, face painting and inflatable games and inside the arena, hot dogs, cokes and chips will be available for $1 each. Following the game, kids will have the opportunity to skate with the team.
