B-Sens Acquire Left-Winger Aaron Slattengren

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators acquired today left-winger Aaron Slattengren from the Portland Pirates (AHL). In addition, the Ottawa Senators have reassigned defenseman Geoff Waugh from Binghamton to Portland.

Slattengren, 27, is in his third professional season and has collected 19 goals, 26 assists and 64 penalty minutes in 95 American Hockey League games with Iowa, Manitoba, Portland and Providence.

A native of Duluth, Minnesota, Slattengren collected a career-high three assists in Portland's 4-0 win over Manchester on Nov. 30. The left-winger spent four seasons at Colorado College prior to turning pro in 2006. He's expected to join the B-Sens before Friday's home game against the Norfolk Admirals.

Waugh, 25, skated in 27 games with Binghamton this season, collecting two assists and 23 penalty minutes. He missed the first 13 games of the season with a foot injury. Waugh signed an AHL contract with Binghamton prior to the 2007-08 season and registered three goals, three assists and 139 penalty minutes in 71 games. A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Waugh signed a one-year contract with Ottawa on August 11, 2008.

The B-Sens (34-23-5-3, 76 pts.) look for their third straight road win tonight when they visit the Worcester Sharks (32-28-1-2, 67 pts.), top affiliate to the San Jose Sharks at 7:05 p.m. Tune into 680 WINR-AM or 1430 WENE-AM 30 minutes before game time for Countdown to Faceoff with Grady Whittenburg, Voice of the B-Sens.
