Coyotes assign Nesbitt to Manitoba; Moose trade Goehring to San Antonio

The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, in conjunction with the Phoenix Coyotes and San Antonio Rampage, announced today the Coyotes have assigned forward Derek Nesbitt to the Moose. Manitoba also announced it has traded goaltender Karl Goehring to the San Antonio Rampage.

Nesbitt, 27, has appeared in 49 games so far this season with the Rampage where he's scored 15 points (6-9-15) and six penalty minutes. He scored his first goal this season Nov. 18/08 vs. Bridgeport and had goals in back-to-back games for the Rampage on Nov. 18 & 20/08. Then on Nov. 25/08 vs. Hamilton, he scored a pair of goals against the Bulldogs. In the past two seasons with San Antonio and Rockford, the Egmondville, ON native has played in 95 career AHL games where he's scored 50 points (23-27-50) and 12 penalty minutes.

Goehring, 29, played in 26 games this season with the Moose. In that time, he has compiled a record of 15-9-2 with a goals against average of 2.52 and a save percentage of .906. The Apple Valley, MN native made eight consecutive starts for the Moose from Dec. 7/08 @ San Antonio to Dec. 27/08 vs. Toronto where he earned a 4-3-1 record. Goehring has played in 273 AHL games in his eight-year career with Syracuse, San Antonio, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Norfolk, and Manitoba. He has a career goals against average of 2.64 with a save percentage of .912 and an overall record of 119-112-22.
