
Brown, Cashman, Goebel Return To Wheeling

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Pittsburgh Penguins have reassigned goaltender David Brown from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to the Wheeling Nailers, it was announced on Wednesday. In addition, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have returned Reid Cashman and Tommy Goebel to Wheeling on loan.
Brown, 24, has appeared in 17 games with the Nailers this season, posting a 10-4-1 record with a 2.89 goals against average and .914 save percentage. He has also appeared in four games with the Penguins this season, posting a 1-2-0 record with a 3.94 goals against average and .841 save percentage.
The native of Stoney Creek, ON has compiled a 10-9-1 record with a 2.60 goals against average with a .888 save percentage in 23 games with the Penguins over parts of two seasons.
Cashman, 25, has appeared in 18 games with the Penguins this season, recording six points (2+4) and a plus-1 rating. Both of his goals were game-winning tallies (Feb. 3 at Philadelphia, Feb. 6 vs. San Antonio in overtime).
The native of Red Wing, MN, has appeared in 29 career AHL contests with the Penguins and Toronto Marlies, recording nine points (2+7) and 22 penalty minutes.
In 21 games with Wheeling this season, Cashman has posted 18 points (5+13) and 29 penalty minutes.
He was signed by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton as a free agent on July 24, 2008.
Goebel, 24, has appeared in 25 games with the Penguins this season, recording 12 points (4+8) and a plus-11 rating with 12 penalty minutes.
The native of Parma, OH has also appeared in 23 games with Wheeling this season, recording 30 points (10+20) and a plus-15 rating with 37 penalty minutes.
He was signed by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton as a free agent on August 7, 2008.
