Aces Fall to Padres in Extras, 5-4

June 4, 2013 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Reno Aces News Release

RENO, Nev. - An extra inning home run by Tucson's Cameron Maybin proved to be the difference, as the Aces fell to the Padres in 10 innings, by a score of 5-4.

The two teams went back and forth Tuesday afternoon, which included two ties, and two lead changes. Reno mounted two separate two-run comebacks in both the fifth and seventh innings.

Reno entered the seventh inning trailing by two runs, but second basemen Taylor Harbin delivered a game-tying 2-run triple to even the score at four apiece.

Despite the two separate comebacks, Tucson outfielder Cameron Maybin would re-gain the lead for the Padres in the tenth inning, with a monster home run to center field. RHP Miles Mikolas entered the game for Tucson in the bottom half of the inning, and retired the Aces in order en route to his 10th save of the season.

The Aces had an array of career milestones, and individual achievements reached in the loss. Shortstop Chris Owings extended his hitting streak to 23 games, with a two-hit effort. Reno starting pitcher Chase Anderson started his 50th career MiLB game, and LHP Joe Paterson recorded his 300th career MiLB strikeout.

Reno will enjoy the third league-wide off-day of the season tomorrow, before kicking off an 8-game homestand against Colorado Springs (6/6-9) and Sacramento (6/10-13).

Tickets are on sale for the remainder of the homestand, and all Aces home games, at RenoAces.com, by calling (775) 334-7000 or by visiting the Aces Ballpark Ticket Office.
