Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers® (31-27-8, 70 Points) were defeated by the Alaska Aces (42-22-3, 87 Points) 3-1 in front of 6,301 fans Saturday night at the Orleans Arena. Forwards Luke Erickson, Colin Hemingway, and Scott Burt all tallied for Alaska as the Aces improved to 6-2-0 against Las Vegas this season. Forward Chris Ferraro scored the lone Wranglers' goal as Las Vegas falls to 19-11-2 at home this season. Aces goalie J.P. Lamoureux made 24 saves, picking up his 30th win of the season. Wranglers' goalie Glenn Fisher stopped 24 of 27 shots in his sixth loss of the season. Las Vegas will play in Ontario on Sunday night at 5:00 PM.
In the first period, center Luke Erickson opened the scoring giving the Alaska the 1-0 lead. While on the power play, Erickson slapped the puck past a screened Glenn Fisher at 11:51 for his 20th goal of the season.
Las Vegas pulled even with Alaska at 16:16 of the second period, tying the game 1-1. Center Chris Ferraro finished off a two-on-one break, firing a wrist shot for his 21st goal of the season.
Alaska regained the lead 4:18 into the third period. Aces forward Colin Hemingway tallied his team leading 24th goal of the season for the 2-1 lead. The Aces padded the lead at 11:47 of the final period. Forward Brett Hemingway set up Aces Captain Scott Burt, who snapped in his 15th goal of the season for the 3-1 Alaska win.
Las Vegas will play in Ontario at 5:00 PM on Sunday. The Wranglers will return to the Orleans Arena on Tuesday at 9:05 PM to host "Over 18" Night.
